Sun-faded French chore jacket in an M/L size (23" pit to pit), in a thinner than usual cotton twill (very soft to the touch).
Classic cut with 3 patch pockets with double stitching, 5 front buttons, one inner pocket.  
Please note the overall length and the sleeve length are shorter than usual, so they would be better fit on a smaller person. 
Most likely late 1950s/early 60s.
